Tips how to find affordable Marine Spare Parts

By Fadhrick Pickaso

Whenever you come across any spare part in your boat that needs repair or replacements, please do not delay because a slight delay in this can leave you stranded in the middle of the sea.

Sometimes it is better to do the home work in advance. You must be already aware about the price of the spare parts. When the market is full of options there are different criteria on the basis of which you have to decide whether the needed Marine Spare Parts are going to be affordable or not. Some of these criteria are as follows.

1. Quality: Quality spare parts are a bit expensive but they last longer than inferior quality spare parts. Quality has its own price. One should not compromise with the quality.

2. Guarantee: Does the seller offer any guarantee or warrantee. If the seller is doing so then he / she is going to charge a bit more than usual but at the same time offering peace of mind. You need not worry within the guarantee or warrantee time.

3. Transportation: When you are calculating the cost you have to include the cost of the spare part, installation and carriage to installation location. If the shop of the seller is too far then even a cheap spare part proves to be expensive.

4. Location of installation centre: One has to make it sure that the location of the installation centre is near the water body, so that the spare part working can be checked instantaneously.

5. Cheap: Cheap is not always good. The quality of cheap spare parts is usually inferior to the quality of expensive spare parts. On the contrary sometimes because of the latest technical advancements, countries like China have been able to drastically reduce the unit cost of production of the products, thus making them cheap.

6. Life and Replacement: Clarify the expected life of the spare part and when will it most probably need replacement. If the spare part is a bit expensive but lasts more than the other brands of spare parts then it is affordable.

7. Directly from the Manufacturer or the whole seller: The less the middle men the more is the spare part cheap. Try purchasing either from the manufacturer directly or from the whole seller so that the discount is maximized.

8. Discount: Sometimes a retailer is forced to liquidate. In those situations the seller will offer some discount.

9. Used: Used spare parts are always cheaper than the new ones but you will have to check the quality not once be at least twice.

10. Labour: When you buy a spare part from any shop discuss about the cost of installation too.
11. Precaution: Please do not overstock the spare parts because some of the spare parts have a certain life and if not used start degrading.

12. Usually Refrigeration Compressors are also considered a marine spare part.
